Coronavirus (COVID-19) is an illness caused by a virus that is transmitted from person to person. Symptoms can range from mild (or no symptoms) to severe illness. One can be infected from respiratory droplets when an infected person sneezes or coughs. Other ways that one can be infected is by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it, and then touching their mouth, nose, or eyes.
The saliva PCR test provides a qualitative result which detects the live active virus for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. This test helps identify if you have been exposed to the virus. The COVID-19 PCR test is a Covid-19 test that detects the virus’s genetic material.

3: Follow the instructions.
1: Check in with S&T staff by the entrance.
2: Prepare your documents (ID and insurance if available, but not required).
3: Stop at the Testing Area, as directed by staff.
4: A S&T Lab staff member will assist you.
STEP 1 We insert a 6-inch long swab into the back of the nasal passage through one nostril.
STEP 2 We rotate the swab several times for 15 seconds.
STEP 3 Repeat this process through the other nostril.
STEP 4 The swab is then placed into a container for testing. This collection process only takes 5 to 10 minutes.
1: S&T Lab sends your test to the lab.
2: The lab analyzes the swab for traces of COVID-19.
3: You will receive a secure message in 1-2 days with your result for a PCR test. Rapid test results will be sent within an hour.
4: If the result is positive, we will continue your care plan with a tele-visit with one of our physician assistants to give you personalized instructions and answer any questions you may have about your diagnosis.
5: Now that you’re in our system, it’s easier than ever to make another appointment if needed.
If you are uninsured, your test is covered by the federal government HRSA program. If you are insured, we will bill your insurance; you will not be charged a copay or deductible. If your insurance company attempts to pass the bill to you, please email us at billing@S&Tlab.com with any supporting documents. Please note, we will never charge you for your COVID-19 test and will always support you to resolve any issues.
*If you are getting your test solely for testing and not for diagnostic reasons, your test may not be covered under your health insurance plan. Please contact your health insurance provider for more details.
